CAMPGROUND COMEDY PLAYS UP CLASS-CRINGE JOKES

For the second year in a row, the Auckland Theatre Company - a national "arts leadership" organisation - has opened its annual season with a deliberately crass and bawdy farce. Jokes about bums (some funny, some not) mean bums on seats, and those looking for an evening's light, tasteless entertainment will find much to enjoy here, such as - once again - Andrew Foster's impressive photo-realist set.

Last year, the season launch was a Stephen Sinclair edit of 1970s slapstick comedy Well Hung; this year, it's a Dave Armstrong adaptation of a story from Sinclair's old Meet the Feebles collaborator Danny Mulheron. ATC is ticking the "local" box with these blokey efforts - but is our comic playwriting pond really this small? [More]

Dune had his first test on Sunday. He failed a stay but the rest of his work was fab. If he had got his stay he would have come forth out of thirty dogs. Not bad for his first time and my first for six years.

Doggie Doings

Get the party started
Sit in a chair, somewhere quietly with the dog with you. Suddenly jump up and have a big play with your dog using a toy and or tip bit. Be super fun and exciting for the dog. Alternatively to playing you could do food circuits. This builds interest in you, and the dog is always looking at you to see is a game if going to start.

Food circle
A different way to reward with food to help build drive. Throw a piece of food out in front, and encourage the dog to move fast, and come back. With another piece pull the dog in a circle around you, and throw it back out in front, repeat. Can change to the dog going around the handler, through legs etc.

Eye Spy
Stand up with the toy / treat in your hand. Stand still until the dog looks at your face, rather than the treat. Click and reward. Progress by increasing the time the dog must look, then increase the time you look away. Teaches the dog that he won’t get a treat by focusing on the reward, instead the rewarding is for giving the handler attention. Encourages the dog to be looking at the handlers face all the time just in case they notice and reward.

Hit the baby
This is an extension of Get the party started..... When your dog is playing / tugging with the toy really well, with your hands touch their face and body. You can add in doing the same with your foot. Desensitizes the dog to touch, and also increases contact / importance with the handler.

Beat ya
Hold the dog by the collar, and throw the toy/ treat out in front. When the dog is pulling against the collar restraint release and race towards the toy, let the dog win! Builds drive for the dog, and also desensitizes against collar touching / handling.

Musical chairs
Ask the dog to do something (sit, spin, down, through legs....) click, run to your chair and reward the dog. Repeat. Then ask for two things, click and reward. Then do the same, but run to another chair you have set up with rewards..... This can be played with lots of people or on your own, and teaches the dog that it doesn’t know where its reward is coming from.

Good Cop Bad cop
Ask the dog to do something with handler (like eye spy), and then another person tempts them with a box of treats. The dog doesn’t get treats from the 'bad cop', who says 'oh no too bad' and pulls the treats out of reach. When the dog looks / returns to the handler it gets clicked and rewarded. Teaches the dog to stay focused on the handler and ignore distractions to be rewarded.

The game is now over! It just got to be too much effort to fight against the few who were causing problems with it. But in the TEN YEARS the game has run (2000-2010), we've had 96609 players (!!!) and no doubt millions of slaves captured and freed, captured and freed. For the thousands of you who played, it was quite a game, I think! I will leave up the pictures for you to enjoy. Reloading each character page will cause a different picture to appear, in many instances. I know a lot of people enjoyed it, as did I!!!!

My psychiatrist tells me that I have a habit of driving people away, which is why I have trouble making friends (I’m an unemployed 34 year old guy living in my Mom & Dad’s basement). I’m going to keep working with Doctor Adams in the hope that with more therapy and medication I can improve myself and become a better person."

As I posted yesterday, the attitude that certain players have thinking they can manipulate a game that they did not create and then boasting about it I have one question. "Who had the last laugh?" It was a good game at one time but as Steve said in his farewell message he cannot keep the game going when the actions of a few ruin it for everyone. RIP Aridor. You will be missed."

Mikka the Siberian Husky fell asleep for the last time yesterday. I'm very sad, he has been my best mate all these long years. It is with my love I am strong enough to say good bye and God speed. Is it just a coincidence Aridor died the same day?

I don't see a lot I can do here. If players are using multiple windows
there's not much I can do, but even if they are, they have to play from
each window, so it's not exactly cheating.

If players are body guarding other player's slaves, that isn't such a bad
thing either.

The other cheats are conjectures....

Sir using history to brake a BG is not cheating ?? There was a time when taking a top player with redshift got you hung ? It's a thing to see your god ! This is where I should start to recite Blake!!!! I miss this game I would pay to play as would others if it worked! Sir I have to say I am ashamed to of hoped more from you! Even if rumble worked there would be some point to play. I will let the others know you know longer care for your game. The world wide web only ever gave us one game like yours, I'm sorry it became this. Thank you for what was my game god!!
